ReplyDeletehindi raw siya maganda, sabi ng mga Beatlemaniacs. being one myself (ehem!), i'm not so thrilled about it. at hindi ko pa rin siya napapanood but i'm currently downloading it (kasi hindi ata siya napalabas dito).
parang puro non-purists lang ata ang medyo nagkakagusto dito. well, pag napanood ko na doon ko na talaga masasabi kung ok talaga itong movie na ito.
btw, napanood ko yung part na bono was singing I am the Walrus ata yun sa isang double-decker bus whatchamacallit and i didn't like it much. haaay... sana matapos na pag-download ko by next week para owtey. Ü

ReplyDeletetry to listen to the original songs para malaman mo how superior they are compared to the remakes. the original "Something" is much, MUCH better (like 100x better... promise!) than the one on this movie... Ü
i finally finished the movie the other day. umm.... well... to tell you frankly, i didn't like it much. sobrang daming beatles references and whatnot na halos every scene e may something beatles-related kahit na a lot of those scenes don't make a lot of sense. haaay...
ReplyDeletebut i liked a couple of scenes or so... yung part where "I Want You (She's so Heavy)" was playing (patalo lang yung ending... the soldiers were carrying the statue of liberty, para the "she's so heavy" part would somehow make sense, buset!), tapos yung part na "Happiness is a Warm Gun" was playing tapos may cameo pa si Salma Hayek. and yung intro rin pala, ok rin, when the song "Hold Me Tight" was playing. the rest were just a whole mash-up of anything goes here and there.
funny... i'm a big Beatles fan pa naman... i just prefer the original songs over the crappy remakes sa movie na ito. i only like 2 Beatles songs na remake, one is Bette Midler's remake of "In My Life" (napaka-solemn ng pagkakanta) at Dirty Mac's version of "Yer Blues" (John Lennon was singing also in the band, so it hardly counts as a remake since he sung in the original version din... pero mas astig yung lead guitar solo, played by Eric Clapton).
hehe... wow, mini-blog entry na! i was supposed to post a playlist of the original versions of all the songs featured sa movie kaso baka mayari ako ng copyright infringement so wag na lang, hehe.
but i'm really glad na na-appreciate mo yung mga kanta ng The Beatles. because they are the best ever ever forever. Ü
oo nga, nagbasa kasi ako ng trivia stuff about the movie... hindi ko naman gets yung mga beatles references kasi hindi naman ako fan!!
